History

Ann Alexander was born Ann Tuke on 16 May 1767, the daughter of William Tuke and his wife Esther Maud. She was educated at Ackworth School and worked as a Quaker Minister. In 1796 she married William Alexander, a printer, stationer and bookseller of York who founded 'The Annual Monitor' for British Quakers in 1812.

Ann died in Suffolk in 1849.
