Biographical history

Freda Hayton was born in 1915, the daughter of Walter and Florence Hayton. Fred Hayton joined Terry's of York in March 1931 as Junior Clerk. Freda Hayton married Neville G Boulton in the summer of 1942, and left Terry's of York in 1945. Freda Boulton died in the autumn of 2001.

Comprises job application correspondence: letters offering interview/examination, 1930; appointment letter as junior clerk, 1931; details of employers excursion to Glasgow, September 1938; Terry's payslips 1944-1945; National Health Insurance refund slip 1941; correspondence re: employee life assurance and assistance scheme at Terry's, 1940s.

Also contains manuscript notes re: Marxism, 1930s-1940s
