The York County Hospital Donation Boards, formerly sited around the walls of the York County Hospital Committee Room (see York County Hospital Annual Report for 1937 for a photo of them in situ), record the names of major donors to the hospital, 18th - 20th centuries, with dates and amounts given.
When the hospital closed in 1977, the donation boards went into storage, where they were damaged and neglected, and had an uncertain future. A campaign began in 1981 to record, save, and re-home them. The file of papers relates to the campaign. The album contains photographs of all the boards.
Note that the photograph album also contains a full set of photographs of the donation boards at Bootham Park Hospital.
